Spiritual Constipation

I Peter 5:6-7  "Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.  Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."  Wow.  The Almighty God — King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the GREAT I AM says for me to cast my cares upon him because He cares.  Wow.

Do you ever get spiritually constipated?  I do.  I've realized that there are many things that can cause this — just as in our regular food diets, there can be certain foods that cause constipation, there are certain "spiritual" foods that can cause "spiritual constipation."  I believe that some of those things are:  offenses, unforgiveness, anger, bitterness, jealousy, envy.  When I let these things build in me, all of a sudden I feel like no matter what I do in my prayer time, worship time, whatever, I can't get past that spiritual blockage.  Well, that is until I confess my sins to a God Who is faithful and just to forgive my sins and cleanse me of all unrighteousness.

The Word says "ALL" unrighteousness — not a couple of things, not partial unrighteousness, but all.  Thankfully, we do have Jesus Christ as our mediator in heaven, and can cry out to Him for deliverance, repentence and forgiveness.  Thank you Jesus — for You are so good, so faithful, and so true to Your Word.  Heb. 13:8 "Jesus is the same yesterday and today and forever."  I do know this, when I have a spiritual blockage, its not God's fault.  So if its not God's fault, who's fault would that be?  Blessings to you today!

And if you are suffering from spiritual constipation, may our Heavenly Father, who is faithful and just, release you from that constipation so that you can be everything He desires you to be!

  1. Oh yea! I hear ya And can relate . I guess CHURCH, PRAYER and personal worship would be the laxative for this condition. Which I will call S.C.S. (spiritually constipateded syndrome) ๐Ÿ™‚ say hello to the MR. (jeff)

  2. Putting it that way makes me realize that I should spend time taking in the water of the Word.
    Psalms 51:7-8, 10
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.Make me hear joy and gladness,
Create in me a clean heart, O God,And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
